UNique Kids ECC is a community based non-profit centre. We provide high quality care by professional, dedicated staff to children between the ages of 6 weeks to 5 years.
Our centre offers care to children of students and staff of the university community as well as to families from our local community.
Our purpose built centre has maintained the highest quality accreditation status in all seven quality areas consecutively, the most recent in March 2009.
We have two large playrooms for the 0-3 and 3-5 age groups. The learning environments are set up for various areas of the NSW curriculum framework, art/craft, blocks, writing area, dramatic play etc with staff guiding and scaffolding their play.
The program is developed from the children's demonstrated interests and strengths, inviting children to investigate, explore and consolidate concepts in a stimulating learning environment. A school readiness program is also implemented into our preschool room incorporating a social/emotional skills focus, language and literacy, mathematical development and science concepts.
Children's developments are observed regularly, interpreted in professional portfolios, which parents are free to look at and receive at the end of the year (a precious keepsake of their time with us and their journey of discovery).
We have a large outdoor environment with lots of shade structures, soft fall and grassed areas. We are also a registered sun smart centre.
The centre provides morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea and a late afternoon snack. We have a scrumptious 8 week menu cycle in both summer and winter, to incorporate seasonal variations of foods and provide alternative meals for children with food intolerances and preferences.
Each month we invite parents to join us for afternoon tea.
