Welcome to our centre. We hope the time you and your child spends with us will be happy and rewarding.
Bargo Child Care Centre is a Long Day Care Centre for 20 children between the ages of 2 years and 6 years, also catering for a small number of school age children, before and after school care.
We are a privately run family business. Carolyn and Paul McCorkell form the Company, McCorkell Pty Ltd. Carolyn has been in the Early Childhood field for many years and is The Authorised Supervisor (Director) of the Centre, approved by The Department of Community Services.
We open at 7am and close at 6pm Monday to Friday. We are closed on public holidays and for 2 weeks over the Christmas period.
We encourage you and other family members to be involved at a level comfortable to you. This may mean joining us for a while, teaching the children a song, reading a story, organising a cooking experience etc. We also appreciate donated items or your time in assisting with jobs/maintenance in the centre or with fundraising events.
Fundraising allows us to provide more opportunities and equipment for your children. We also hold a variety of events at the Centre for all families to attend and participate in. These may include Mother's and Father's Day, Meetings, Information nights, Children's presentations, Christmas and Graduation events. Family members are welcome to visit our centre at any time.
Please feel free to drop in and visit us at any time or contact us to discuss you child care needs. We look forward to welcoming you and your child.

Please send the following items with your child each day of attendance in an appropriate bag.
- Spare sets of clothes appropriate for season and weather change, underwear or nappies, a sheet or blanket appropriate for the weather, bottles and dummies if necessary. Bring your child's lunch and snacks in a lunch box with your child's name on it and a drink bottle.
- HATS: your child must bring a hat every day of the year. A beanie is a good idea for winter. This needs to be taken home at the end of each day and in their bag for the next day of attendance.
- SUNSCREEN: please apply this on or before arrival to the centre and stamp your child's hand at the centre if it has been applied. Sunscreen will be reapplied later in the day by staff.
- CLOTHING: No thongs are to be worn, shoes should fit well so as to not distract from participation in activities. Please send your child in suitable clothing for play, considering weather and sun protection.
Children who are toilet training should be dressed in clothing easy for them to take on and off quickly ie no overalls, belts and tricky buttons. Please note children can get dirty/messy in their play, so we suggest you send them in appropriate clothing for this.

The year before school is an important one, so we endeavour to provide your child with opportunities to practice many skills required for starting school.
Of course, some children are not interested in drawing and writing, so they are not forced, but we do encourage them to participate in these areas. Children learn many skills during their play. We consider their social and emotional skills to be the most important for starting school.
